Background The International Symposium on Sustainable Development was held in Hong Kong on 10-11 June 2002 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. The aim was to bring together local stakeholders and thinkers and internationally renowned experts to share their experience and views on sustainable development. The main theme of the symposium was ˇ§Sustainability and the Cityˇ¨ within the context of the Pearl River Delta Region. This site is to provide a comprehensive summary as well as a full record of the symposium proceedings.
